Assumption and coronation of Mary is not Biblical hence a Fallacy

Roman Catholic Church is known for numerous false doctrines: rosary, baptism of the infants, purgatory, idol’s worship, mass, Eucharist, December 25, All Saints and All Souls Day, and many others that the Bible did not agree with.

Another dogma that the Bible did not consider is the Assumption and Coronation of Blessed Virgin Mary.   Let the Scriptures tell us the reason.

John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

Dictionary defines assumption as the taking up of a person into heaven while ascension is the act of rising or ascending; the act of moving to a higher or more powerful position. Catholics church said by the power of God Mary’s assumption took place, on the other hand, it is by Christ’s power he ascended to heaven. Although ascension is different from assumption in terms of “whose will it is” as they implied, it is still clear that both terms directed into one place which is going up to heaven where the Almighty God is dwelt. And no man went to heaven, the Son of God does.

Remember the promise of our Lord Jesus Christ which is written in the Book of John,

Joh 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

Joh 14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Joh 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

I believed that Mary died in Christ, and those who died in Christ will rise first.

1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

A query about the assumption of Mary was asked to Bro. Eli in Bible Exposition Totoo bang si Birheng Maria ay iniakyat sa langit?”.

Few years back I made comments/inquiries regarding the assumption and coronation of Mary in Atty. Marwil Llasos blog. I posted that since the event of assumption and coronation of Mary is not written in the Bible – it is not real, it is a mere addition and a false doctrine. And believing to false doctrine is detrimental to salvation.

Since Catholics believe on that dogma, I asked Atty. Marwil Llasos, a Catholic defender, for verses that will qualify his belief, because my belief is, all things needed for salvation is written in the Bible, and to be Biblically true, it must be written.

Atty. Llasos did not give verses to support his claims instead he gave me counter-argument – “Where in the Bible can we read that everything is in the Bible?”, wherein according to him my premise is invalid.

Lest Atty. Llasos forgot that we are verifying here the truthfulness of RCC dogma and not everything or something else. And it wise to think that to be Biblically true, a doctrine must be written or can be read in the Bible itself and not from any self-claimed letter from apostles or self-proclaimed saints by Catholics church.

According to, Assumption of Mary was the bodily taking up of the Virgin Mary into Heaven at the end of her earthly life. It is also called the falling asleep of Mary.

Bodily taking up or entering body into heaven (Wikipedia)- Is it possible that body of flesh and flood can enter heaven? Let’s read:

1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Just to sufficed the assumption belief, Atty. Llasos said that I did not understand or I know not the Catholic doctrine because the body mentioned in that dogma is a glorified body like of our Lord after his resurrection. Let hear some words from, a catholic-page,

“Scripture does not give an account of Mary’s Assumption into heaven. Nevertheless, Revelation 12 speaks of a woman who is caught up in the battle between good and evil. Belief that Mary, without dying or shortly after death, has been taken up into Heaven with her body and her soul has been part of the teaching of the Catholic Church since the earliest centuries of Christianity. That early Christian believed in Mary’s Assumption is proven in the lack of her relics, empty tombs, the existence of Transitus Mariae stories, and quotes from early Christians.

Finally when she was 59 years old, Mary died A.D. 48. She had enough time to say goodbye to all the apostles before she died. The grieving apostles took her body to a tomb near the one that Jesus was laid in. They covered her with a white shroud and laid her to rest in the tomb. But Mary’s body didn’t stay there. Jesus came to her and took her body and soul into heaven to be with Him.”

The also posted this:

“The word Assumption comes from the Latin verb assumere, meaning “to take to oneself.” Our Lord, Jesus Christ took Mary home to himself where he is.

In the light of a long history of Christian belief since patristic times, in 1950, Pope Pius XII defined Mary’s Assumption into Heaven as a dogma of Roman Catholicism:

“the Immaculate Mother of God, the ever Virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heaven.”

(1)Whatever body (material or glorious) as Atty. Llasos claimed, the fact remains that  Scripture does not give an account of Mary’s Assumption into heaven – no wonder why Atty. Llasos is having hard time to give verses when asked because the assumption is no-where to be found in the Bible.  And yet, it is only 1950 when such belief was declared as dogma of the church.

(2) Due to lack of relics, empty tomb, existence of Transitus Mariae and quotes from early Christians – with these reason why Catholics believed such dogma is like an empty can because true Christians will not tell lies and make story that is not true.

Mat 19:18  He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

(3) “Jesus came to her and took her body and soul into heaven to be with Him” and Our Lord, Jesus Christ took Mary home to himself where he is”, are both direct contradiction of the Lord’s words in John 14:1-3.

When will the Lord Jesus Christ coming and the dead in Christ will raise first?

This Q & A in a Bible Exposition of Bro. Eli Soriano will give you discernment about this – the question raised is May nakarating na bang tao sa langit?”

If the legal adviser, Atty. Llasos still insist that such dogma is Biblical, it is up to him.  He has all the right to believe and defend his (false) belief, on the other hand, we are here to defend the truth and expose lies for the sake of others.

And by the way, I am a proud member of Members Church of God International, or locally knows as Ang Dating Daan.  And the messenger sent by God in this dispensation that I am talking about in your blog Atty. Llasos is Bro. Eli Soriano.

Most of us use social network for fun, to entertain ourselves and to connect to our friends and relatives.  Other use it for their research and schools’ assignment.

But have you ever think to use your social network to ask your preacher or pastor about your queries/doubts about your present religious affiliation, about your faith, about your salvation?  Are their lines open 24/7 to deal with your century old questions?  Asking personally your preachers are perhaps a hard one to do, because he may think his teaching is doubtful and cannot be comprehended at all and most probably he will put your eyes on you in a very unpleasant point.  Most pastors and preachers do not want to be asked.  Why? Because they do not know how to response Biblically and Logically.

Although the long-time and most-awarded religious program of Bro. Eli Soriano called ‘Ang Dating Daan” (The Old Path) or “Itanong Mo kay Soriano, Bibliya ang Sasagot” (Ask Bro. Eli, Bible will answer), wherein every questions is responded immediately by the host himself (Bro. Eli), can be watched in UNTV 37, live streaming in and websites, here is another access how our questions can be responded.

ADD Worldwide Bible Exposition hosted by Bro. Eli Soriano

May 29, 2012

UNTV37  catered the latest Ang Dating Daan Worldwide Bible Exposition through its program “Ang Dating Daan” (The Old Path) wherein people from different remote places can ask the host, Bro. Eli Soriano, the presiding minister of Members Church of God International (MCGI).

I was about to sleep that night but since I am not yet sleepy, I tune in (as always do every night) to UNTV 37 and watch Ang Dating Daan program.  The man with his colleage, in Navotas,  is asking series of question to Bro. Soriano about  “tithes”   and claiming that tithing at present is still part of God’s law and Christians must follow it. Bro. Eli give him ample time to discuss his side. As I remember, the man from Navotas cited Mathew 28:20 as he is claiming that all laws including tithing as law of Moses and law of God shall be taught in all the world.

Mat 28:20  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (KJV)

The man from Navotas mentioned different verses that I already forgot. Anyway it will be shown to the program again.  What made me excited is the responses made by Bro. Eli in his claims.  To those who do not yet hear Bro. Eli and his preaching, laws of Moses including tithing, according to Bible is not the law that Christians must be followed, but the laws of Christ. Bro. Eli said that
member “per se” can give ten percent (10%) , or less or more than ten percent, which was according to the purpose of his heart. Bro. Eli read II Corinthians:

II Co 9:7  Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. (KJV)

Bro. Eli explains that what is unlawful today is for the pastor or preacher to collect tithes from his members, because the authority to collect tithes is given to Levites and to Israelites alone and not to anybody. And the ten percent of the ten percent collected from the chidlren of Israel will be offered as well to God.

Num_18:26  Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe.

And that was law of Moses and to the children of Israel must obey.  Bro. Eli said, we are not Israelites and pastors today are not Levites. Thats was very true. Those greedy pastors even uses Bible verse to extort their members.

Mal 3:8  Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
These pastors told their members that they rob God when they did not gave their tithes to them. What a trick?! The reason why there are many pastors who are very rich and even have they own jet plane and airport. In the Philippines, greedy pastors who love tithes very much have big mansions and millions of pesos, while their members are poor as the word poor implies.

Bro. Eli further explained that law of Moses will not justify anymore. We will justify by the law of Christ.

Act 13:39  And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

To refute furthermore the claim of the man in Navotas saying that tithing as law of God given to Moses should be taught to all nations by citing Mathew 28:20, Bro. Eli boldly read the verse and pointed out that what will be taught to all nation as Lord Jesus Christ said to his apostles is HIS COMMANDMENTS.

Mat 28:20  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (KJV)

Wow, that was very clear indeed!!! (clap clap clap)

Truly, the word of God written in the Scripture is as clear as crystal if its explain by the messenger sent by God himself.

For that, thanks be to Him and to God be the glory forever!!!
